Désirée Nakouzi De Monte and Andrea Parenti of Collezione Nancy Delroi embody an Italo-Lebanese duo.
Their practice was shaped over a decade of collaboration as co-directors of MRZB Art Group, active between Amsterdam and Turin (2014–2024), and, since 2024, as the authors of Collezione Nancy Delroi, operating across Milan and Beirut.
Their practice articulates its language through the détournement of clichés and the tensions of a performative community, constructed on the edge of the rupture of contemporary society. Grimy collages, made from dismantled sofas, reconfigure the authority of the Old Master through the trauma and obsolescence of domestic residue. A mise-en-scène of furniture fragments – emptied middle-class symbols – is assembled into pathetic yet deliberate compositions, aiming to evoke new cult-like imaginaries by reshaping the dominant narrative.
